Cleaning Rugs

What is the best method to clean a wool Dhurrie Rug? Also what is the best solution to use to remove pet odor from carpets?

Thanks for your question.  You didn't give us the dimensions of the rug, but we believe that the best way to clean the rug is to have it professionally cleaned.  Of course, we can't emphasize enough check references, ask friends you trust who have cleaned their carpets.  Ask the business for local references and ask the company where you bought the rug who they recommend.  You may also want to ask the company who cleans your rug, if they will offer a written guarantee concerning the condition of your rug.

Remember the colors are sensitive and may bleed and fade no matter what process you use.

Regarding your question to removing pet odors.  The best solution is to start off with a new vacuum bag, spray the inside of the permanent vacuum bag with the new Clorox disinfectant spray, and then vacuum all of your carpet.  Then throw the bag away.  You may need to vacuum more often if you have indoor pets.
There are also some excellent deodorizing powders which can decrease pet odors.  But if your carpet smells strongly of pet odor, then it is time for a professional steam cleaning.  The smell indicates trapped allergens, molds, dander, dust, dirt mites, etc.  It may smell bad, but most of all it is not healthy for you to breathe.
